He is considered in Nashville, Tennessee as "the great dane of country radio." So much so, that in 1998, Scott was awarded the CMA Award for Air Personality of the Year. In 1999, he was awarded The Marconi Award which is the highest award given in radio broadcasting! He was nominated for the Marconi award twice after that in 2001 and 2006. Scott was voted Baton Rouge’s favorite On-Air Personality three years in a row by Parents Magazine, and he won Air Personality of the Year by the CRB in Nashville, Tennessee in 2002. This past year in 2006, he was voted the Academy of Country Music's Air Personality of the Year! With Scott’s love of radio and his love for kids whom have cancer, Scott has touched many children every year with his Christmas wishes and his Dream Day concerts for St. Jude. His “Read, Learn and WINK” school program which teaches children to stay off drugs and stay in school is just one of the programs that Scott is involved with. In early 2006, Scott created "Hollywood Hal and Rhinestone Al with the Wannabees" with his best friend, Jim Hogg, and Warner Bros. and Cartoon Network artist Scott Neely. The Pre-Kindergarten show became an instant hit in the Baton Rouge area and is now catching on Nationwide as well, with four TV markets across the country already onboard and airing the Hal & Al weekly show. Also while producing the weekly TV show, Scott and Jim produced the Hal & Al DVD movie and music CD which both teaches children about love, manners, sharing, staying drug free, that school is cool, following your dreams, and much, much more! Scott Innes also sponsors numerous little league and pee-wee league baseball teams each year. When the pee-wee league in Brusly, Louisiana couldn't find enough sponsors last year, Scott bought all 10 teams uniforms and equipment so they could play ball! In August of 2005, when Hurricane Katrina devastated Southern Louisiana, Scott and his wife Jodie opened their home to a family of eight who were evacuated from their home in New Orleans and who lost everything that they owned. Scott Innes' number one priority has always been helping his community and the people within it. His approach is always positive and Scott believes broadcast professionals should never lose sight of the fact that radio is a tool of communication and public service. Whether or not Scott is driving Baton Rouge home to "Hug The Babies" on his very popular radio show on WYNK 101.5, or visiting hundreds of local schools, and raising money for countless charities, or providing the voice of Scooby-Doo, Shaggy and Scrappy-Doo...Scott Innes has spent a lifetime touching the hearts of his listeners not only in Southern Louisiana but around the world each and every day! Scott Innes is Louisiana Radio at its' best! |
